Emory Methodist Church News from Sunday

“For everything there is a season, a time and every purpose under heaven.”   Ecclesiastes 3:1

Rev. Banks message on this day of worship was titled Kairos and Chronos: God Always Shows Up” with scripture text taken from Ecclesiastes.  Kairos is a Greek word that refers to God-ordained times, opportune moments and events.  God has given us a sense of past and future even putting eternity in our hearts.  We are to grow in faith and just pray that God is not wasting time on us.  Sunday was Communion Sunday which is always such a special time to quieten our hearts and take the bread and juice in remembrance of Christ who died for each of us.

Remember on the 20th the Methodist Women will have their annual Fish Fry from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Our Communion offering goes for Christmas Shoe Boxes for children in need around the world. Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local churches worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Busy week with the Rains County Fair starting Tuesday the 9th.  Car Classics Round the Square Saturday the 13th.

Happy Anniversary Kerry & Karen Culberson.

Prayers for Judy & Sam Sorsby, Nan Owen.

Have a great week and as always please be Kind.
