“When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.”    Matthew 3:16
What a great way to start a new year, with a message called “A New Beginning: Remember,” with scripture text taken from Matthew.  Rev. Banks talked about how hard it can be to start fresh and begin in a different direction.  You just have to keep moving forward and let God do His work.  I love change and look forward to doing something different and depend on God to guide us on this journey called life.
This week: Winds of the Spirit Prayer Team meet at 8:00 a.m. and Kid’s Club at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday Jan. 11th.
Sunday January 15th Methodist Women will have a lunch meeting after worship.
Happy birthday to Cheryl Traylor, Covey Ben Griffin II, Cay House, Jeri Humphrey, Opal Franklin, Frances Cason.
Prayers for Bill Harder, Clara Box, Bessie Webb, Heather Powell, family of Brad Cobb, family of Bobby Robbins.
In faith we gathered around the table for Holy Communion to taste and share what love can do.  This is the day of new beginnings so lets make 2023 the best year ever.
