Emory Methodist Church News

“When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.  Then a gentle whisper said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”  1 Kings 19:13

Rev. Banks continued his series “The Theophany: The Unexpected” with scripture text taken from 1 Kings 19.  The Lord told Elijah to go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord. He was there in the wind, earthquakes and fire but he is was not in them.  As Elijah heard a gentle whisper he was aware that the Lord was there and you too just know when God shows up and strengthens and allows us to be more than we are.  These unexpected moments is when our faith becomes strong and frees us to be your people.

We go to the Nursing Home February 27th to sing and worship with the wonderful folks at Emory Rehab Outreach.
