Emory Methodist Church News from Sunday

“After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews?  We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”   Matthew 2:1-2

Rev. Banks continued his series “The Quest: titled The Quest for the King” with scripture text taken from Matthew 2.   As we celebrated Christ the Kind Sunday on this day of worship let us acknowledge the quest for the King reveals the great reversal at the heart of the gospel:  the King we seek has been seeking us all along.  Let us surrender to the One who comes for us, with a right heart, right mind, and all we are.

We had our Thanksgiving Fellowship meal after worship and it was fantastic with Cheryl Traylor’s dressing that we always depend on her to make.  Everything else was so wonderful.

Happy birthday to Josh Rabb and a very Happy anniversary to Pastor David & Amy Banks.

Prayers for Vickie Cooney, Sydney Wilcox, Leanne Harris, Gloria Shows.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving and as always please be kind.
