Formation

Becoming Like Christ

Formation ministry shapes disciples who are being transformed into the image of Christ through intentional teaching, spiritual practices, accountability, and intergenerational community. We believe that God desires not just converts, but mature followers who think, love, and live like Jesus—equipped to love God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength, and to love their neighbors as themselves.

Formation is not about information transfer—it’s about transformation. We’re not trying to make people smarter about the Bible; we’re cooperating with the Holy Spirit to form Christ in them. This happens through teaching, practice, relationship, and time.

Paul, in his letter to the Ephesians, reminds us that the gifts God has imparted to us we meant, “To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until all of us come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to maturity, to the measure of the full stature of Christ” (Ephesians 4:11-13).

First and foremost, this ministry is rooted in relationship with God. Secondly, we understand that we are shaped through relationships. We become like those we’re around (mentors, teachers, small groups). We need each other because growth happens in community: Discipleship isn’t solo.
