“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.  Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.  Matthew 6:6

Rev. Banks message titled “Prayer’s Pathway: Teach Us to Pray” with scripture text taken from Matthew 6.  The heart of prayer is our relationship with God. David emphasized the power of prayer in our lives and the importance of establishing a personal relationship with God while engaging in prayer.  On our journey of discovering God’s call upon our lives and spiritual growth we need humility and a willingness to listen as we grow in our prayer life.  Jesus taught His disciples and us to pray The Lord’s Prayer and that is our call during this Lent season to fast and pray and draw closer to our Lord and Savior.

Our Ash Wednesday service was wonderful and David placed the imposition of ashes with the sign of the cross on our forehead.  This is such a special service and it’s a time to recommit ourselves to the One who loves us.

Coming up this week Thursday 22nd we go to the Nursing Home at 10:00 a.m. and then our 40 day Prayer Circle will meet at 11:30 a.m. Our Administrated Board will meet on Monday the 26th at 5:30 p.m.

AA Meetings in the Fellowship hall every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and Saturday at 12:00 noon.

Have a great week.
