It was a wonderful day of worship, but where oh where did January go? Rev. Banks message titled The Journey: “Makes Us Whole” with scripture text taken from Psalm and Mark. David spoke on the journey we take and how good and bad things happen to each of us. We go back and forth with the winds and the waves that come our way. If we just watch for Jesus He always shows up and we encounter the living Savior. We need to serve the One who serves us. We had communion today and the Lords table is open to all. We encounter peace when we break the bread and drink the wine.
Our communion offering this month is Rains County Good Samaritans, you know the importance of this ministry to our church and community. Thousands find nourishment and financial help in the vital work of RCGS.
We had an Emmaus Meeting after worship and a great potluck lunch. There will be Emmaus walks in March at Athens, Texas.
Coming up this Saturday 10th of February the Methodist Women are having a Valentine Dinner from 5-7 pm in the fellowship hall at the church. There will be dinner, games, silent auction and fun for everyone. $15.00 per person. Proceeds support Methodist Women’s Missions.
